Ja, ist es denn zu fassen?! Unser Vermieter wollte doch nicht mit der Kaution rausrücken. Angeblich sei das Haus nicht sauber genug, und man müsse erst genau prüfen, was das alles kosten werde. Also forderte ich ihn schriftlich auf, die volle Summe bis zum 26. zurückzuzahlen. Falls nicht, werde der Mieterbund eingeschaltet und den Rest regeln. Dezent wies ich darauf hin, dass dies u.U. Konsequenzen für seine steuerliche Situation haben könne. Eine Woche später erhielt ich einen Anruf: Man könne am Haus „nichts feststellen“, am 26. könnte ich meine Kaution in voller Höhe bei ihnen abholen. Und so war es tatsächlich. Jesus, wir danken dir. Dieses Kapitel ist zur Freude aller erfolgreich abgeschlossen worden. Und ich habe dadurch viel gelernt, was es heiβt, auch im Konfliktfall Christ zu sein und zu bleiben.

When we returned the keys of the old house to our landlord he did not pay back the deposit to us, due to his opinion that the the house was not clean enough and he needed to check how much this would cost. I expected a bill saying we have to pay 2000€ – the same amount like the deposit. So I wrote a letter and called upon paying back each Euro by Friday 26th. Otherwise we’ll consult the tenant association for the further procedure. And I noted friendly that a clarification of the affair at court might have consequences for his tax situation. One week later I got a phone call on my mobile: They “could not find anything” at the house, on Friday 26th I could come to pick up the entire deposit. And so it came. Jesus, thank you. This chapter could be finished successfully. I learned so much by it how to be and behave as a Christian even in hard cases of conflict.
